View From the Editor’s Desk: Bill Bolling’s Civics Corner
For the past year former Lt. Governor Bill Bolling has offered commentary, opinion, and critiques about issues of importance and opined about newspaper articles that we’ve shared here at Bearing Drift.
His space is kind of like a teaching corner … Civics 101, or maybe Republicanism 101. Sometimes you like it; sometimes you don’t. But it’s an honest assessment of what is happening as seen through conservative, pragmatic Republican eyes.
This morning we published his latest, Republicans Have Done It Again in Massachusetts Primary. I thought about how grateful we are to have these posts and to hear from a former GOP elected official who now spends his days in academia teaching government and politics to university students. (I suspect he also passes along a bit of his civility, too.)
The LG’s knowledge, experience, and balance are his strengths along with his kindness and civil tone while willing to speak out at a time when many in the GOP remain quiet while navigating these tumultuous political times. He has a finger on the pulse of politics and doesn’t sugar-coat what is happening out there.
Let’s take a look at Bill Bolling’s recent posts that you may find helpful as we all slog through the next 2.5 months leading to the November midterm elections.
Buckle up … it’s going to be a bumpy ride.

Many thanks to the Lieutenant Governor for being a BD content partner.
I published a summer recipe yesterday, Summer Recipes: Pasta with Roasted Tomatoes and Garlic, after overhearing someone say they were inundated with cherry tomatoes – those little things certainly are prolific – and it reminded of this recipe that I used when we had them rolling in. (No cherry tomatoes this year; just the larger varieties.) Bon appétit!
Enjoy the rest of your short work week and be well….
