Bolling: Thoughts on Leadership
A great quote from Teddy Roosevelt:
“I would rather go out of politics having the feeling that I had done what was right, than stay in with the approval of all men, knowing in my heart that I had acted as I ought not to.” -Teddy Roosevelt, speech to the New York State Assembly (1883)
We need more Teddy Roosevelts. Leaders who will always do the right thing, regardless of the consequences. Leaders who put country, not political party, first.
Instead, most modern politicians are what my friend Tom Patterson calls “single minded seekers of reelection.” They will always do what they think will be politically expedient and help perpetuate their political career. That’s why our country is so messed up today.
