More Unemployment – National Public Radio lefty resigns
By Brian Kirwin | Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 | PolicyIt’s about time she hit the unemployment lines.
National Public Radio CEO Vivian Schiller (aptly named) resigned in the wake of more NPR anti-conservative comments, this time about calling the Tea Party “racist.”
The Tea Party is racist? What was it called when Schiller, who is white, went on an tirade on Juan Williams about how he needs a psychiatrist because he’s not a liberal?
If the Tea Party criticized Juan Williams, what would the NPR report say it was?
Don’t you love questions where the answer is obvious?
So, she (…ahem….) quit (…ahem….) voluntarily….
“I did not want to leave NPR. There’s a lot of pressure on NPR right now,” said Schiller. (AP)
A lot of pressure? To do what? Report the news without bias? To actually be self-sufficient without relying on the taxpayers to fund your salary, which reports have estimated to float around the HALF-MILLION dollar range?
Oh, boo hoo!
Welcome to the world, Viv!
As I wrote in Bearing Drift here and here, you should’ve been an Obama unemployment statistic long before now.
Just think…if NPR had read Bearing Drift months ago, they might’ve saved themselves a touch of credibility.
Now, more than ever, people are realizing that government shouldn’t be the purveyor of news.

It’s a sad day for the Schiller name. But the idea that these leftists are going to be left homeless just for adherence to every silly and vicious left wing belief (including anti Semitism) is silly itself. There will be a government program set up to help them out. Now if they had criticized Obama in their conversations well then GITMO would be too good for them. Just ask poor old Ed Whitaker the Rahm Emanuel friend appointed as head of Government Motors. Look up what happened to him after he made a little joke about it.
All Things Considered…this was way overdue.
Guess I better double up on my WHRO check this year! What idiots! In less than a year, overpaid NPR execs destroyed the entire CPB brand. I was hoping to see some PBS funds salvaged (large cuts, yes; but not killed) ~ can’t imagine that happening now. An unlikely probability, but as CEO of PBS or CPB, I’d push to cut NPR loose–– really, really fast. IMO, public funding for PBS is a great investment. Only 10% of NPR’s budget is taxpayer funded. Cut it loose. Let it stand alone (or fail) on it’s own.

O’Keefe is a Conservative sniper who has made successful head shots on Acorn, Planned Parenthood and now NPR. Can’t wait to see which head he targets next… maybe a union boss?
Amazing what a motivated copuple of kids on a shoe string budget can accomplish when our umpteen billion dollar news media can’t.
Poor Big bird.
