But Wait! Ahmadinejad says we’re hypocrites.

Should Governor McDonnell be expecting a call from the President or even the United Nations?

According to the Richmond Times Dispatch, Iran’s President Mahmoud “Ahmadinejad accused the West of launching a ‘heavy propaganda’ campaign against the case of an Iranian woman who had been sentenced to be stoned to death for adultery but failing to react with outrage over the imminent execution of Teresa Lewis in Virginia.”

Whatever your opinion of the death penalty and the Lewis case, should we really give a flip about what this nutjob thinks?

In a related story, at least the Canadian delegation had the requisite equipment to walk out on Ahmadinejad’s speech to the U.N. [CTV]

Regarding Lewis, the U.S. Supreme Court this evening turned down her request for stay of execution. Governor McDonnell has said he will not intervene. Teresa Lewis, 41, is scheduled to die by injection Thursday at 9 p.m. at the Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt.

Who cares? Mahmoud is the lap dog of the ayatollahs. He barks and rolls over when they tell him to.

Iran is a good example of what can happen when the religious leaders run a government.

Hmm…stoning a woman for infidelity (only admitted to under duress and later recanted) vs. lethal injection because of this:

The record reflects that in the fall of 2002, Teresa Lewis conspired with two men to murder her husband and her stepson, a U.S. Army reservist set to deploy for active duty, in order to obtain her husband’s assets, including the life insurance proceeds from another son’s accidental death, and her stepson’s life insurance policy. In furtherance of the plot, Teresa Lewis agreed to share the proceeds with her co-conspirators, paid for the firearms and ammunition used in the murders, and enticed her 16 year-old daughter to become involved in the murder plans. Teresa Lewis intentionally left a rear door to their home unlocked to allow the co-conspirators to easily enter the premises. After one unsuccessful attempt to kill her husband a week earlier, the plan reached its tragic conclusion in the early hours of October 30, 2002. After her co-conspirators shot the two victims multiple times with shotguns at close range, Lewis waited more than 45 minutes to call emergency response personnel, during which time her husband was still alive.

    Get a grip, Mahmoud.

Please Ward don’t give the UN any ideas. They’re nutty enough on their own. Come to think of it so is the Obama Administration. DHHS Secretary Sebelius may call McDonnell and say “death panels are my responsibility not yours.”

    Mr Hawkins

Don’t forget to include Marxism/socialism. These are also viewed religiously by their acolytes.

I know what your talking about…Those damn religious freaks that worship Mother Earth. They seem as if they’re losing their minds when they hold up the Discovery Building.

Next, they’ll be going after Homer Simpson, telling you to cough into your sleeve or flying planes into an IRS buildings. Or they could put on a 30-year bombing campaign while building bombs in their shack while reading Al Gore’s book.

Isn’t that what this White House pushing…Global Warming? Who might their Ayatollah be?

Sorry if I missed Brazil offering asylum to Teresa Lewis and Governor McDonnell refusing to let her leave.

Oh, they didn’t? So Ahmadinejad is making an apples and oranges comparison.

My father was a combat engineer in the US Army. He spent a year in Iran building listening posts in the north of the country to watch Russian missile tests many decades ago.

    Deuteronomy 22:22-24

Actually I am one of those damn religious freaks that worship Mother Earth. I believe that man’s activities have no noticeable effect on global temperatures. I want lower taxes and smaller government. Other then that, I get along with them. I am just not as radical.

No, we shouldn’t pay attention to Iran about this.
However, although I support the death penalty, I have a problem with this execution because the actual triggermen in this case got life in prison. If this crime merits a death sentence then it merits three. To execute Lewis while not executing the men who actually committed the murders doesn’t feel like justice to me.

    @James Hawkins,
Sorry if I have offended you. As an Athiest, I’m tired of hearing liberals bash Christians. Tree huggers are far more radical than Christians.

To me, I would rather put up with a Christian far more than a Tree hugger, PETA or a Muslim.

“Whale Wars” is a vigilante group that chases Japanese whaling ships…they get their own show. Gary Faulkner gets painted as crazy chasing bin Laden. I’d rather have Gary on my team rather than a bunch of idiots (Whale Wars) waving legal papers.
