Webb’s war on coal
By | Monday, September 20th, 2010 | Policy

Last week, Jim Webb appeared before coal miners and said:

“We are not going to let the EPA regulate coal out of business.”

Really?

Then how come he didn’t join six other Democrats (Mark Warner was also NOT one of them) at supporting efforts to overturn the EPA’s finding that greenhouse gases are hazardous to human health? This so-called “endangerment finding”, permits the EPA to regulate the heck out of coal and greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act; in fact, it’s now a REQUIREMENT for the EPA to regulate it.

This now gives the EPA the authority to regulate 70% of the U.S. economy’s greenhouse emissions.

Clearly that won’t have any impact on coal, in Sen. Webb’s parallel universe.

As I mentioned somewhere else, leftists (including Sens Webb and Warner) believe talk is action not merely a preliminary to action. They also believe that people are so stupid that you need to lie to them about everything. I’m not being mean to them because that’s what they have told me for years. The only difference now is that their contempt is becoming open and blatant. I would have no problem if they openly defended their beliefs and tried to explain them without name calling or logical absurdities. Their refusal to do so means they are up to no good.
