Webb’s war on coal

Last week, Jim Webb appeared before coal miners and said [1]:

“We are not going to let the EPA regulate coal out of business.”

Really?

Then how come he didn’t join six other Democrats [2] (Mark Warner was also NOT one of them) at supporting efforts to overturn the EPA’s finding that greenhouse gases are hazardous to human health? This so-called “endangerment finding”, permits the EPA to regulate the heck out of coal and greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act; in fact, it’s now a REQUIREMENT for the EPA to regulate it.

This now gives the EPA the authority to regulate 70% of the U.S. economy’s greenhouse emissions.

Clearly that won’t have any impact on coal, in Sen. Webb’s parallel universe.
