Bolling: Christian Influence Waning Worldwide
Once majority Christian nations, England and Wales no longer are. The percentage of self-identified Christians is now below 50%, with those holding no religious affiliation sharply increasing: Census data shows England and Wales are no longer majority Christian,
These same troubling trends are also occurring in the United States, with many scholars predicting that the U.S. will no longer be a majority Christian nation by 2050, perhaps sooner.
The Christian church has been losing its influence for years in many countries. Some blame this on the church being out of touch with modern culture, while others blame it on the church no longer standing for traditional biblical truth.
Regardless of the cause, the declining influence of the church, one of our five primary social agents, should be of concern to all.
