Mike Allers Announces for Newly Redistricted 28th State Senate District

RUCKERSVILLE,VA—Mike Allers, educator, former Police Officer, and proud resident of Greene County, Virginia, announced today that he would be seeking the Republican Nomination for the newly redistricted 28th State Senate District.

“I am seeking election to the 28th State Senate District to author legislation that makes Virginia safer, to oversee government spending and taxes to promote Virginia’s prosperity, and to rebuild Virginia’s School System so all children can receive unrivaled educational opportunities designed to propel them into a limitless future. I will serve and steadfastly represent the citizens of Virginia’s 28th State Senate District with great dedication, integrity, passion, energy, and focus,” said Mike Allers, candidate for Virginia’s 28th District.

Allers has been in education for more than 20 years, and currently teaches fourth grade at Gordon-Barbour Elementary School in Orange County. He turned to education after being injured on the job while he was serving as a Police Officer.

He also served as a principal in Louisa County and Madison County Schools and was an assistant principal with the Charlottesville City Schools. After seeing years of failed school policies come from Richmond, Allers felt more than ever called to serve-this time beyond the classroom and step back into public service.

“I had initially reasoned that returning to the ranks of School Administration would be the correct course of action for me due to the current state of Virginia Education. However, I have decided instead that my energy, talents, and experiences would be better utilized serving as a citizen legislator to the newly drawn 28th Senate District. Never before have students and families needed a strong, qualified, and informed voice in Richmond. I am confident that I can be that voice,” said Mike Allers.
