Is Roanoke County Supervisor Joe McNamara Going to Run for Habeeb HoD-08 Seat? UPDATED: Yes
Sunday night … I’m sitting at the Bearing Drift desk connecting dots about rumors running throughout the 8th House of Delegates district (and beyond) concerning the seat that is to be vacated on August 30, according to an announcement Friday by Delegate Greg Habeeb.
The 8th District covers Roanoke County, Salem City, Montgomery County, and Craig County.
If you are in the vicinity of the Salem Ice Cream Parlor Monday morning around 9:00, and you’re interested in who will run in Greg’s seat, you may want to stop by.
Salem Ice Cream Parlor is owned by Roanoke County Supervisor Joe McNamara. And Joe McNamara is the name I heard today rumored to be running for that 8th District seat.
Then this evening Roanoke County Republican Committee Chairman Dan Webb posted on his Facebook page that there would be an important announcement Monday, July 30, at 9am, with a number of politicos in attendance:

And if indeed McNamara is running for the 8th House seat, in a district that is very red and went 62 percent for Donald Trump in 2016, and with the fire power he has behind him at this announcement, he stands a very good chance of being the next state delegate from Salem.
