Cuccinelli Burns For Comstock

 

This has been a terrible week for Ken Cuccinelli.  The self-immolation is just deplorable… like watching a man pour gasoline over his head and fumble for the match.

Which makes this little snippet via Sirius XM Radio extraordinarily… well, odd.

What the hell does Barbara Comstock have to do with Cuccinelli?

Ken Cuccinelli’s transition from grassroots leader to paid political hack has been graceless to say the least.

The hypocrisy is stunning, and illustrates precisely why Cuccinelli went from rising political star in 2009 and the darling of conservatives to embittered political powermonger by the end of his AG run.

Case in point?  In 2013, Bill Bolling was a traitorous scumbag for not endorsing the nominee, yet now not endorsing nominees is noble; a sign of conscience even.  Just this last June, Cuccinelli orchestrated a despicable effort to pack the RPV delegation with his own loyalists, benching Virginia notables such as former Lieutenant Governor John Hager and former Governor Jim Gilmore.  Yet when RNC imposes the same rules, Cuccinelli throws his credentials to the floor just as he threatened he would do.

 

Virginians are tired of this.  Five statewide losses over the last four years, all of which is in some way attributed to the division and chase for power by those who abuse principles in the pursuit of power.  To what possible end?  One man’s political career?  Are all the dead bodies even worth it?

Comstock is doing just fine representing her constituents.  Why Cuccinelli thought to single her out for that sort of criticism only further puts his character (or lack thereof) on display.
