Stewart Now Co-chair With Gilmore on “Team Virginia”
Prince William County BOS Chairman Corey Stewart will be teaming up with former Governor Jim Gilmore to lead the “Team Virginia” program.
Stewart, who is the chairman of Donald Trump’s Virginia campaign and an aspirant for governor in 2017, will be charged with leading the program formerly known as “Victory” at fostering the grassroots movement in the commonwealth for Republicans.
“We are very pleased that Chairman Stewart has agreed to be join our field program,” said RPV Chairman John Whitbeck. “With Corey Stewart on board, we will be able to bring together the resource of the Trump campaign and combine them with the resources that the Republican National Committee and RPV have already committed to this effort. Team Virginia is the largest and most aggressive plan in the history of the RPV.”
“Virginians know what it’s like having a corrupt career politician under FBI investigation as an Executive. We can’t afford to have that in the White House,” Chairman Stewart said. “I look forward to coordinating with Governor Gilmore, the RPV, and volunteers around the Commonwealth in ensuring we are successful in the fall. People are going to be surprised at the number of new Republicans who come out to support Trump and the Republican ticket.”
The “Team Virginia” program says it isn’t just about identifying, persuading and turning out voters, but is also a “communications and social media plan and an aggressive voter registration effort – building the long-term, neighborhood-level infrastructure we need to win in 2016, 2017, and beyond.”
