We all know the quote, and the Democrats never miss an opportunity to prove that it’s their modus operandi.
This afternoon, three masked gunmen using military assault rifles exercised a tightly planned operation and killed at least 14 innocent people and wounded at least 17 more at a civic center in San Bernardino, California. The victims and their families are in the thoughts and prayers of everyone at Bearing Drift as well, I’m sure, as all of our subscribers and readers.
Prayers and appreciation for our police and first-responders likewise were the sole concerns of all of the Republican presidential candidates:
Not one of the Republican candidates even remotely politicized this tragedy. By contrast, President Obama and all of the Democrat presidential candidates immediately politicized it to the exclusion of any expressions of sympathy.
Compare the Republican statements of sympathy with the following statement by President Obama:
“We don’t yet know what the motives of the shooters are but what we do know is that there are steps we can take to make Americans safer. We should never think that this is just something that just happens in the ordinary course of events because it doesn’t happen with the same frequency in other countries.”
Notice that while he wasted no time promoting his anti-gun rights agenda, Obama couldn’t find it in him to express any sympathy for the fallen. Neither could his Democrat compatriots running to succeed him, who likewise focused solely on making sure that this serious crisis didn’t go to waste as an opportunity to promote their leftist political agenda. In fact, one of them even blamed the NRA. (Yes, really.)
The way one responds in a time of crisis is a reflection of his or her character. Keep that in mind the next time someone tells you there’s no difference between Republicans and Democrats.
