Bill Janis may have been the first Republican to declare his candidacy for the 12th district Senate seat being vacated this year by Walter Stosch, but he now has plenty of company in the contest.
A former staffer for Newt Gingrich, Vince Haley, jumped in on the 19th and is running for what appears to be the David Brat vote (former Brat campaign manager Zach Werrell is on his team). Today, a third candidate — attorney Ed Whitlock, III announced he, too is running for the nomination.
A three-way race, and still time for someone else to declare.
Hmmm. Maybe I should do it. Nah…wearing a tie every day would probably kill me.
