For those who want to wade through the data, spot trends and ponder just how the GOP convention picked its nominees last Saturday, the RPV has put the information from each round of voting online.
Dive in and and see what the numbers tell you. One obvious trend? As the day, and the night, wore on, delegates started leaving. Just over 8,000 ballots were cast in the initial round. That dropped to around 4,700 by the fourth ballot. My home county of Henrico, for instance, saw its ballots-cast figure fall from 345 in round one to 164 in round four.
Conventions may be good things in the eyes of some. But how different might the results have been had all of the delegates been there for all four rounds?
