John Tate, campaign manager for Ron Paul in 2012 and president of the Campaign for Liberty, has endorsed Corey Stewart for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.
“This year we have seven candidates running for the republican (sic) nomination for Lieutenant Governor in Virginia. There are some good candidates and my decision was not easy. In particular many of my friends and political allies have signed on with Susan Stimpson, and I have no quarrel with them, or her. I believe she would make an excellent candidate, and Lt. Governor.
“But for me, I based my decision on two things.
“First, Corey is and has been a friend, for a number of years. I know Corey and I trust him. To my knowledge Corey has always carried through on his promises and has remained a loyal friend through good times and bad.
“Second, I believe Corey has the record and has demonstrated his willingness to stand up and defend our liberty and freedoms whenever he has been in a position to do so.He has been successful in fighting for our liberty and freedom at the county level and I believe he has what it takes to stand tall in the fight and not back down in the face of compromise and defeatism.”
I might just go to this convention after all. If only to watch the festivities.
