…and you’re probably asking what I asked. Who is Dick Heller?
Well now, Mr. Heller is a very important man. How important?
Heller was the plaintiff in the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark 2008 case, D.C. v. Heller. For the first time in American history, this decision held that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm.
“Rob Bell stands up for our constitutional Second Amendment rights,” Heller said. “We sued Washington, D.C., over their restrictive gun laws and won the very first Supreme Court case addressing the Second Amendment as a civil right. The decision recognized that individual ownership, possession and use of a firearm for self defense is a fundamental, constitutional right of every American citizen.”
Continued Heller, “Rob Bell is a gun owner and has a record of standing up for our Constitutional right to bear arms. I know he will fight fiercely against anyone who would try to take our gun rights away.”
“Over the last decade, no one has done more than Dick Heller to protect our Constitutional rights,” said Bell. “I’m honored that someone on the front line of the fight for our Constitution would trust me to be Virginia’s next Attorney General.”
Not a minor endorsement when you consider all that this case entails. Kinda like the Boneta of 2A rights.
