Hot on the heels of yesterday’s amusing poll showing Mr. Obama opening a wide and commanding lead in Virginia, the Washington Post is out with its Senate poll and…wait for it…it shows Mr. Kaine up by 8 points over George Allen.

Democrats: 32
Republicans:24
Independents: 35
How the Post managed to conduct, let alone publish, a second poll that assumes Republicans comprise less than a quarter of Virginia’s electorate is baffling. Or perhaps it shows the polling unit believes Virginia begins at the Potomac, and ends at Wilson Boulevard.
