… remember when Republicans were chided by the media (and others) for asserting that:
- Democrats wanted to whitewash God from society?
- Abandon Israel?
- Were really in truth more pro-abortion than the mythological and conscience-soothing “pro-choice”?
- Were opposed to traditional marriage and family and not just seeking “toleration” of other lifestyles?
- Liberal policies — including support for Planned Parenthood — were really just thinly-veiled racism aimed at minority communities?
- Liberals viewed every Christian as a threat, but every Muslim as part of the “religion of peace”?
- Public education was doing a grave disservice to the next generation?
- Democrats really wanted a weak and dissimulating national defense posture?
- National health care was the true goal of any sort of “reform” being proffered?
- Voter fraud was endemic — and even encouraged as a political tactic?
- Liberal entitlement policy would create an underclass of the helpless?
- Liberal foreign policy would enable terror-sponsoring states such as the Islamic Republic of Iran?
- Liberal spending policy would bankrupt America?
- Liberal monetary policy would weaken America?
- Liberal social policy would change the very nature of America?
20 years ago, conservatives might have even questioned and even laughed at all of this.
After this week’s DNC convention… is anyone laughing now?
