Though we didn’t announce our anniversary with much flair, now that the electoral dust has settled, and we have ushered in a new era of conservatism in Virginia’s Capitol Square, it’s time to celebrate – and also get to work on the next campaign season.
With three straight years of conservative victories, we need to keep the party going by winning back the White House, expanding our Republican majority in the House of Representatives, and taking back the U.S. Senate so that we can repeal ObamaCare and pass some pro-jobs legislation!

As a loyal Bearing Drift reader, you understand the serious nature of the Virginia 2012 elections – and that campaign is now here. We intend to play a leading role this election year and cover the campaigns from every angle – on our website, in Bearing Drift Magazine, through our newsletter, and on our weekly radio show. For many years, Virginia didn’t matter in most national contests. It was reliably Republican in presidential races, and tended to elect conservatives to the House and Senate.
That changed in 2008. Virginia is now a battleground state.
But Virginia’s media has changed since then too. It’s much smaller than it was four years ago, offering far less coverage. Yet, the stories it still offers tend to have that familiar, anti-conservative slant.
