Rep. John Fleming has a nifty idea: Congressmen who vote for national health care public “option” should enroll in that option, rather than their ritsy Federal Employees Health Benefits Program.
Oddly, not a single Democrat has warmed up to the idea.
“Under the current draft of the Democrat healthcare legislation, members of Congress are curiously exempt from the government-run health care option, keeping their existing health plans and services on Capitol Hill,” said Rep. Fleming. “If Members of Congress believe so strongly that government-run health care is the best solution for hard working American families, I think it only fitting that Americans see them lead the way.”
The resolution is here, and I wonder which Democrat will be the first to impose on himself what he’s about to impose upon the American people.
