According to a Gallup survey taken at the end of July, 35% of voters don’t know what party their member of Congress belongs to but they thought their representative was doing a better job than the rest of them.
Overall, voters are mad at a “do nothing” Congress. Congress is more likely than the President to be blamed for poor economic conditions and congressional approval ratings are still at historic lows (14% in mid-July). Interestingly, Democrat voters were more disappointed with Congress than Republicans – just 11% of them approved of the job Congress is doing.
So the question is, when voters get mad, will Democrat incumbents suffer too?
