Forbes Gets Significant Endorsements From Special Warfare Community
Rep. Randy Forbes keeps racking up endorsements in his bid for Congress.
Forbes has received the nod from a group of retired Navy leaders from the special operations community.
The release stated that Forbes was endorsed by two former Commanders of Naval Special Warfare Command (flag officers) who led and oversaw the entire SEAL and Naval Special Warfare community and by the former commander of Fleet Forces Command, who also commanded Light SEAL Support Craft in Vietnam and finished his career as the highest ranking Naval officer in Hampton Roads.
“Our special operators represent the very best of America — their dedication to duty, commitment to those who serve alongside them, and their unflagging dedication to accomplishing their mission, no matter the obstacles,” Congressman Forbes said. “I am deeply honored and humbled to have the support of these men, who have spent their lives serving our country and understand firsthand the national security challenges we face.”
And dedication to duty they have. The collection of endorsees boasts military decorations from the Purple Heart to the Silver Star.
Those who endorsed Forbes today include:

– VADM Joseph D. Kernan, USN (Ret.), former Commander of Naval Special Warfare Command, Commander of U.S. Fourth Fleet/U.S. Naval Forces South, and former Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense
– RDML Thomas Richards, USN (Ret.), former Commander of Naval Special Warfare Command and Commanding Officer of SEAL Team ONE
– RDML Tom Brown, USN (Ret.), former Commander of Special Operations Command South and former Commodore of Naval Special Warfare Group ONE

Virginia’s Second Congressional District boasts the largest concentration of military forces in the United States and is also home to the largest naval base in the world.
