It has finally happened. Two of the biggest rabble rousing Republicans running for President (and no, I do not consider Donald Trump a Republican) have finally started attacking each other.
In an interview with Kilmeade and Friends on Fox News Radio, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul had this to say about his GOP rival:
“I approach things a little different, I am still just as hardcore in saying what we are doing is wrong, I just chose not to call people liars on the Senate floor and it’s just a matter of different perspectives on how best to get to the end result.”
“He is pretty much done for and stifled, and it’s really because of personal relationships, or lack of personal relationships, and it is a problem,” Paul said.
“I think I would say we have disagreements on tactics on how to do it and I stand up forcefully for what I think is right, but I try not to make it personal,” he said. “I think in not making it personal and understanding that other people have different perspectives and really this is a democratic republic, you have to woo people, you can’t hit them over the head.”

One has to wonder…when Rand Paul attacks shutdown Ted, how bad have things become? These two have given Mitch McConnell more headaches than any Democrat. And now, Rand Paul is attacking his fellow tea party conservative for his tactics.
Really, all that Senator Paul is telling Senator Cruz:
“Why ya gotta be so mean?”

And Senator Paul is looking (if there are any) to disaffected Cruz supporters saying:
“Cause I’ve got a blank space, and I’ll write your name.”

Most likely Senator Cruz will respond with:
“Haters gonna Hate!”

Okay, I’ll stop. Yes, I’m a huge Taylor Swift fan now. I have been waiting since the moment I started writing for this website to write a Taylor Swift inspired post.
In all seriousness, Paul deserves thanks for having the proper respect for the United States Senate and it’s members. More can be accomplished in a legislative body than shutdowns and name calling, and it’s refreshing to see a member of the tea party wing of the party denounce Cruz’s tactics.
