Democrat John Foust has won the coveted endorsement of the DailyKos, which is, apparently, still a thing for the left. Mr. Foust ensured the endorsement by taking time to complete the site’s questionnaire. It looks like he’s a “yes” man — except when it comes to entitlement reforms.
There is space on the form for candidates to write comments. Foust did so in two places:
So no reaching across the aisle for him. And no filibusters, either. But you want card check? John’s your man.
Of some note is the way the post’s author described Del. Comstock:
Comstock was the lead thug on the RNC’s 2000 hit squad, a group of born liars engaged in manic projection who somehow succeeded in portraying Al Gore as the dishonest one. The Atlantic’s Joshua Green called her one of the “the leading lights in the low-lit world of opposition research,” a creature “held in about the same regard as spammers and ivory smugglers.”
It’s more colorful than Foust’s own description of Comstock, but it also shows the Kos writers have lost little of the venom that has been their hallmark for so many years. I mean, how often are people compared to ivory smugglers these days?
This is a tough race for all sides. Both major parties are spending heavily and the proxy fight Comstock is forced to wage against the Clintons gives the contest added national status.
It tells me that, should she win in November, Comstock will become the new star of the Virginia congressional delegation.
