Planned Parenthood, NARAL, HuffPost Misconstrue Senator Martin’s Comments to Make a Point They Don’t Even Agree WithPolitics

planned parenthood

The Huffington Post, NARAL, and Planned Parenthood have gone on the offensive against a pro-life politician, excoriating him for referring to pregnant women as a “host”.

Yet, this is nothing more than another example of the ever prevalent abortion distortion.

Virginia State Senator Steven Martin posted a sarcastic response to a wholly insensitive Valentines Day card he received from The Virginia Pro-Choice Coalition.  The card said that if he did not support “abortion” – the destruction of an unborn life – it would “break our hearts.”

Of course instead of focusing on the unbelievably coarse assertion that if you don’t support abortion you will break women’s hearts, the media has walked lockstep with abortion activists like NARAL and Planned Parenthood.

Here’s what Senator Martin actually said:

I received a Valentines Card today with a two tone red heart on the front above the words, "Don’t break our hearts." Inside was the following message:

"On behalf of women’s Heath advocates across Virginia, we are disappointed in your record of voting to restrict access to critical healthcare for women and families. All women deserve access to their full range of reproductive health options – including preventing unintentional pregnancies, raising healthy children, and choosing safe, legal abortion – and your votes only make it more difficult for Virginians to plan and provide for their families. We are watching your actions closely, and hope that you will reconsider your position on this critical issue. Please don’t break our hearts.

- The Virginia Pro-Choice Coalition"

~ How very heart warming – all while using ill defined terms. "Raising healthy children" in the context of access to abortions speaks only to the ability to "kill unhealthy children." Do they not see the sickness of that argument?

If it’s your expectation that I should support such nonsense, I will be breaking your heart.

You can count on me to never get in the way of you "preventing" an unintentional pregnancy." I’m not actually sure what that means, because if it’s "unintentional" you must have been trying to prevent it. And, I don’t expect to be in the room [n]or will I do anything to prevent you from obtaining a contraceptive. However, once a child does exist in your womb, I’m not going to assume a right to kill it just because the child’s host (some refer to them as mothers) doesn’t want it to remain alive.

We finally get to to the truth at the end of that same line. What they want is access to "safe, legal abortions," any time one might be desired. Okay, then why did you write all the rest of that bologna about raising healthy children (by killing the unhealthy ones), having access to healthcare (which you do), and preventing unwanted pregnancies (don’t have unprotected sex)?

Such nonsense, supposed adults have written, to celebrate love, on Valentines. These folks are really sick people!

(Senator Martin later edited “host” to “bearer of the child.”)

Radical abortion activists pounced, focusing on his use of the word “host.”

Yet, isn’t it these same groups and their supporters who have long referred to an unborn child as a parasite.

In context, Senator Martin was clearly writing tong-in-cheek pointing out the absolute ridiculousness of the abortion industry.  In fact, he told the Huffington Post as much: “‘I don’t see how anyone could have taken it the wrong way,’ he said. ‘It was me playing their argument back to them. Obviously I consider pregnant women to be mothers.’”

It is pro-abortion radicals who treat mothers as hosts.  And their immediate reaction did not disappoint, jumping on an analogy to make a point – a point they don’t even agree with.

They don’t believe a pregnant woman is a mother.  Their hypocrisy is as stunning as it is blatant.

The radical pro-abortion Left doesn’t care about love; they care about the antithesis of love – death.  Only those blinded by the abortion distortion fail to see it.

Bob Marshall has fueled the Democrats fire and helped them win elections with some of his incendiary rhetoric. At least he’s pro-life. He’s also pro-vacation. From 2008 to present, Bob Marshall has missed 1,039 votes. When he ran for Senate in 2008 and 2012, he missed a total of 568 votes! Some of his missed votes are truly shocking. He’s missed votes to keep predators from kids (HB233); he’s missed votes to put meth peddlers behind bars (HB931); he’s missed votes to shut down X-rated drinking establishments (HB1171); he’s even missed votes to give tax breaks to businesses (HB1388) (http://www.richmondsunlight.com/legislator/rgmarshall/votes/2008/). No wonder they call him Bob “MIA” Marshall in Richmond. Marshall has been paid $25,000 per year for his two-month vacation in historic Richmond. But now he wants a promotion?

Lamb Chop’s going after Sideshow Bob now, too?

Well, at least we know he’ll attack anybody.

I thought he had vanished the same way he had appeared. I guess the sock puppets took a little vacation!

I am going to be laughing hard when he goes over to BullElephant (Bob Marshall Country) and makes this comment. This guy is going to alienate EVERY part of the base possible before his race is done. This begs the ethical question of whether political euthanasia is appropriate in Lamb Chop’s circumstance?

        • Marta D. Saltus

Once more these attacks and smears prompt me to believe Wasinger’s run is being funded perhaps by liberals, such as the likes that funded Sarvis’ run for governor.

Hey Weinberg, All fetuses are jewish the way I see it. Lets have this discussion.

    • Ryan Thomas

Grabbing the pop corn right now. I encourage you to go share this on Bull Elephant. They are all huge Marshall fans there and I am sure they would love to be enlightened by your comments.

Ryan, not sure why you assume those of us at The Bull Elephant are “huge Marshall fans.” I do happen to like Bob Marshall (and I don’t take offense at being called a fan) but I don’t think I’ve said anything about him to indicate we’re in lockstep over there behind Bob. In fact, the only way I’ve weighed in on that race is in defense of Comstock after the clown LambChop/Wasinger’s attacks on her.

        • Ryan Thomas

Maybe not you per se, but Jeanine’s bias is very obvious and many of the commentors are fans. That is fine because people are allowed to have opinions and their favorite candidate. That is not the point of my comment. My point is that the folks over on Bull Elephant are not gonna buy his attacks on Marshall when he carries them out over there any more than BD folks believe his Comstock attacks here. In other words, he is gonna be laughed out of town there.

            Agreed!
