Way back in the days of journalism, the press would question candidates prior to an election and demand specifics in their answers.
That was before the press adopted the “hometown referee” job for the Democratic Party.
Now they still ask the tough questions. They just do it the month after they’ve won the election for their liberal comrades.
“Plans without details, though, are just a whole lotta rhetoric. And details about toll relief have been in short supply from McAuliffe and his transition team.” (Virginian-Pilot)
That didn’t keep the Pilot from giving their umpteenth consecutive Democratic statewide endorsement, of course. The press would never let a silly little thing like honesty and specificity get in the way of getting a Democrat elected.
But to hear them whine now about the answers they never demanded before is about as sad and pathetic a display of intellectual credibility that one wonders what level of audacity is required to perform such an act.
If you think Terry really cares what you think, write or advocate, you’ve got another thing coming. You’re just one of the many who had vague promises handed to you for your support and vote, and the snake oil ain’t what you thought it was.
