What Does a Stone Hitting a Glass House Sound Like?

True to form, Jamie Radtke’s campaign has put their collective foot in their candidate’s mouth again.

After mercilessly harassing Virginia Tea Party Patriots for Allen on accidentally including folks as anything other than a mistake — nay, it was blatant, lawsuit-inducing, outright hate speech from those dastardly Allen supporters — one can only wonder whether the same standard applies this week… as Lancaster County GOP Chair Joan Blackstone is none too happy to see her name on a list of Radtke endorsements.

From a campaign source (and not the one you’d think):

From: “Joan Blackstone”

To: “Donner ForSenate” , “Jackson E.W.”
Cc: “McCormick David” , , “Nussbaum Tim”

just to let you all know what I sent to Jamie about endorsement.

Jamie, I don’t know where you go the idea that I have endorsed anyone for the US Senate seat. It is true that I am on your email, that you have come to one of my Unit meetings in Lancaster County and that I go when I can to our local tea party meetings. Several candidates have come to Lancaster and I am expecting more.

I encouraged the starting of the tea party in our area, I have not chosen any candidate and do not think that as a chairman that I should do so outright just yet. I did not approve of those that announce their preference on the podium at the Advance either. Just wanted you to know and to take my name off your list of supporters. I will certainly support the nominee when the time comes. I wish you the best and look forward to having you speak again at our meeting and perhaps in having a debate of all candidates in our area.

Joan Blackstone, Chair Lancaster GOP

Gotta say — very classy response from our Lancaster chair.  Folks in Lancaster County ought to be very proud of this sort of leadership and demeanor.  As an old 1st District guy… this is the way it’s done.

Yet in complete contrast, after beating up on Patriots for Allen for the better part of two weeks over endorsements that were never given… Radtke’s campaign pulls a bush league move like this?

If you’re going to throw stones…

I am proud of Joan for her classy response. I live in Lancaster County but I do not know her. Guess I should get a little more involved in the local scene, eh?

Absolutely the same standard should apply. I couldn’t agree more that the response from Joan Blackstone was super classy and exactly what you would want to hear from a chair.

She only asked for her name to be removed, but I would think Jamie Radtke’s campaign should make a public retraction and articulate that false endorsements are not acceptable. This is an opportunity for Jamie to be the better candidate and take responsibility for her campaign. Fully vetted endorsements could be re-released to again drive home that point and again highlight some impressive endorsements.

I have to agree with you on this one, Shaun.

I have never seen a campaign that had EVERY name correct. The classy thing is to admit a mistake. I hope we see that tomorrow.
