Obama: “I Just Can’t WAIT To Be King!”
By Shaun Kenney | Sunday, May 1st, 2011 | PoliticsAt the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, the highlight of the evening runs as follows:
Hoping to further quash conspiracy theories, President Obama announced Saturday night that he would show his official birth video, in front of an audience of 2,500 journalists, celebrities and hangers-on at the Washington Hilton.
Then a clip of “The Lion King” played on giant screens, showing the young cub Simba being anointed. The crowd roared. The squirmy issues of American society are always played for laughs at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner.
What they don’t tell you is that Obama Simba signed off with this video…
Thanks, Obama… slow pitch over the plate.

How’d you get a preview of my Daily Press column?
Hahahaha! Yes, we know already. The joke’s on us!
When did Mufasa get kicked out of Harvard? I don’t remember that in the movie.
Yep, another lie you can tell about the president. That clip, and the way conservatives will use it, will be very revealing, but not in the way you think.
For someone who wears his catholicism on his sleeve like you do Shaun, you certainly bear false witness with surprising ease.
And yes, I’m criticizing you–try not to burst into tears this time.
He might have just had his coronation ceremony last night.
ToR,
I wouldn’t be too sure about that. If you will recall, George H. W. Bush was so popular after the First Gulf War, that the joke in Republican circles at the time was that he could get reelected with Willie Horton as his running mate. 17 months later, Bill Clinton cleaned his clock in the general election.
Obama and his team deserve great credit for pulling this off and not turning such a great opportunity into another Desert One. But, they need to remember that “all glory is fleeting.”
In sales it’s called “Today a hero, tomorrow a zero”.
