Former Vice-Presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro has died at age 75. She had been fighting cancer for some years. The first woman to run for Vice President of the United States, she ran alongside Walter Mondale in 1984. Hers was a distinguished political and legal career, and any woman who runs for office today can look with gratitude at Ferraro’s life. Here’s a good biography, with links to videos and more stories.
