The annual Repub vs. Dem basketball game during rhe Assembly session used to be pretty entertaining.
Del. Kirk Cox was the Republicans best player, sort of a scrappy point-gaurd type.
Former Del. Tom Jackson, of Hillsville, who I believe played college ball, was the big star. He was a deadly long-distance gunner. The Dems won several consecutive games on the strategy of feeding him the ball every time down the court. That may be why Republicans redistricted him out in 2001;-)
Our current governor once played an entire game in black dress socks and sneakers. Not a good look.
