Roanoke Times reluctantly endorses Habeeb
By | Wednesday, January 5th, 2011 | Politics

The Roanoke Times acted as if it just got a root canal – something that might be necessary, but is damn painful – when endorsing Greg Habeeb in the House of Delegates’ contest in the 8th District to replace Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA09).

Despite their saying that Ginger Mumpower, Habeeb’s Democratic opponent, wouldn’t adequately answer their questions, “failed to impress”, and was “ill-prepared” to serve as the delegate, how’s this for a ringing Habeeb endorsement:

If Salem attorney Greg Habeeb succeeds in his effort to replace Morgan Griffith in the House of Delegates, we don’t expect to cheer many of his votes….Though we fully expect we will have numerous and major disagreements with Habeeb if he is elected, we endorse him in the upcoming election.

“Gee, thanks?” says Habeeb?

Oh well, don’t hit a gift horse in the mouth, I suppose.

Why is the RT all bent out of shape regarding Habeeb? Because he’s an unabashed and unashamed conservative Republican.

The horror!

That’s gotta be a front runner for Worst Endorsement of the Year.
