Senator Chris Dodd says farewell
By | Monday, December 6th, 2010 | Policy

It’s not often we’ll highlight the words of a Democratic U.S. Senator, particularly one from the northeast, in a positive way, but I think last week’s farewell remarks from Sen. Chris Dodd bear a listen. Kudos to Senator Dodd for these remarks.

Pay particular attention to when he speaks of a hyperpartisan 24-7 new media. I have my own theories on this, but I’d like to know yours too.

Dodd says he longs for the days when he had 12 liberal reporters from newspapers covering him.

    I’ll bet he does.

    Alan,

The wise and sadly evicted Mr Dodd should not go without offering the nation his wise counsel. But what about: The sage and maligned Barney Frank. The august and unfairly attacked Andrew Cuomo. The brilliant Mr Geithner whose thriftiness is confused with tax fraud. The conscientious Charlie Rangel… It’s too bad for the country that we were not treated to their farewell speeches as well.

I’m with valentinus. I just wish most of the current Congressmen would have been giving farewell speeches as well.
