Love the empty Glenn Nye chair! What a joke!

Talk about hypocrisy – giving Rigell a hard time for not wanting to appear in a debate with a non-viable candidate and then bailing out of this one. We’ve seen a lot of Nye bailing out in the recent past – bailing out of this debate, bailing out of scheduled town halls and other events, bailing out on his constituency by voting for the stimulus. The guy’s got no backbone, and he’ll keep bailing on our district if given the chance.

  4. The Question October 11, 2010 22:27 pm

What scheduled town halls and other events he’s bailed out on?

  5. James "turbo" Cohen October 11, 2010 23:14 pm

The guy probably surveyed the scene and decided there were to many sharks circling. Lets see Rigell attend a debate surrounded by a bunch of pelosicrats.. he might bail too.

  6. Phillip Meridian October 11, 2010 23:25 pm

    @The Question:

Nye bailed on another meeting with constituents before so this is a recurring pattern with the Congressman.

This forum showed several things for voters as the election approaches:
    1. Democratic claims that Rigell is out of touch with ordinary americans are BLATANTLY FALSE. Rigell has held his own town hall meetings throughout the district, with Nye invited as a special guest. Not surprisingly, the Congressman refused those invitations as well. Rigell has shown a willingness to listen and work with all people this election season and that is the attitude he will take to Washington.
    2. Nye’s excuse for not debating Rigell one-on-one, wanting to include Golden, is now blown out of the water. I believe this marks the fifth time Rigell has debated Golden and now the second occasion with Golden one-on-one. Nye would clearly prefer to let Rigell debate a candiate polling only 5% than face the Republican nominee one-on-one.
    3. Glenn Nye is afraid of defending his record to his constituents; a record of support for a wasteful and ineffective “stimulus,” a vote for Pelosi as Speaker, and a failure to take a position on any major issue.

The choice is clear. We need the business sense and accountability Scott Rigell will bring. Can’t wait until November 2!!

Umm.. Phillip.. the first and only debate during the general election was just a few days ago at the League of Women Voters event taped by WHRO. There have been no other debates. It was fun to watch. The press coverage could be a game changer for Kenny. Looking forward to the next one.

????? All 3 candidates did the 3rd police precinct debate in august and then the 2nd calvary debate in september. So this is their 3rd debate.

Now, maybe its a good thing it was just a Rigell v Golden debate, afterall, golden quite the gop primary right after their last one on one debate:)

  9. James "turbo" Cohen October 12, 2010 00:48 am

Saul, the 3rd police precinct and 2nd calvary were forums, not in any stretch of the imagination were they debates. The League of Women Voters hosted their first and so far only debate.

Rigell was shaking at the one on one debate before the primary that was hard wired by recipients of his generous donations.

I tell ya what buddy, set up a debate, a real debate with just Kenny and Scott. Tough questions, tough arguments on the issues.. a REAL DEBATE..

It won’t happen, Scotty would never go for it.

  10. Jax October 12, 2010 15:21 pm

You are wrong again turbo. I was at all 3 events, there’s video of all 3 events, and well they were all pretty much the same. Call them a debate, a forum, a whatever, but there has indeed been three, and your eagerness and aggressiveness to just argue with folks is tiresome at best. 3 weeks left, let’s make this thing interesting on here. I can go back and forth with you all day. Probably won’t, as I don’t seem to have time to flood the internet with silly comments. But, for you, maybe I could make an exception.

  11. Brian Kirwin October 12, 2010 16:10 pm

See, Jax. Golden’s people complain that the debates aren’t “real” and whine that the polls aren’t “real” when in actuality it’s their campaign that isn’t “real”

  12. Wally Erb October 12, 2010 17:21 pm

The debates must not be real; otherwise Scott Rigell would not be showing up unless Kenny Golden is polling 10 (15?) per cent. Right?

  14. Chris Wahler October 13, 2010 08:17 am

I have been at all 3 forums, debates or whatever you want to call them. With the exception of the length of times for responses etc, I have seen little difference. The one on Saturday last had a moderator/spokesperson, question readers and 3 respondents. Same as the forums. Except , since it was being televised by WHRO, you couldn’t applaud until the very end which sped things up but dulled things down. The real fun is watching both Capt Golden and Congressman Nye fight for the center and claim they are both independents!

  15. Bryan Stuart October 15, 2010 19:13 pm

Last time Rigell and Golden debated one on one, Golden dropped out of the primary race 10 days later! Let’s see what effect this one has on his campaign.

  16. James "turbo" Cohen October 15, 2010 20:00 pm

Bryan Stuart, I pains me to see you lie. When Rigell and Golden debated the primary was not underway. The LWV was the first and so far only true debate with all three candidates.

  17. Brian Kirwin October 16, 2010 15:01 pm

Not as much as it pains us to see Golden campaign.

  18. James "turbo" Cohen October 16, 2010 20:27 pm

Speaking of pain, portions of yesterdays DEBATE, yes it was a debate this time, are now posted.

    Poor Scotty.

  19. Brian Kirwin October 16, 2010 21:18 pm

    Poor Scotty?

Kenny hardly said a thing for the 12 minute clip.

  20. James "turbo" Cohen October 16, 2010 22:00 pm

There is more.. As often as Scotty got all weeweed up it is likely that more will come. Did notice that the room got a rise from Kennys comments.

  21. Jay D October 16, 2010 22:36 pm

Thanks for the link to the clips, Turbo. For fun, check out this one. “It’s déjà vu all over again”.

Scott RINO is a RINO. He is a RINO, because he is a RINO. A vote for Scott RINO is just a vote for the other Democrat running in this election. Every day I receive these mailers from the Democratic Party detailing just how good a Democrat, Scott RINO has been. Every day it makes me more and more sick to my stomach when I think of all the true conservatives we had to choose from during the Primary, but instead the puppet masters’ money managed to give us Scott RINO.

  23. Brian Kirwin October 17, 2010 06:56 am

Ah, no Turbo I didn’t, and neither will 99% of voters whom Kenny can’t reach because he isn’t running a real campaign.

But that YouTube video has 13 views now! You must be proud…

  24. James "turbo" Cohen October 17, 2010 08:43 am

Brian, Its embarrassing to watch your boy Scotty spin. Things are going great for his campaign and he has the funds to pay for it but seriously Brian, this is the shining example of leadership the GOP chose to endorse for VA-2? Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot

  25. Brian Kirwin October 17, 2010 21:21 pm

    Whig Party? Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot

  26. Chris Wahler October 17, 2010 21:40 pm

    Betty/ Ma’am,
I have known Mr, Rigell for only a few years. He is NOT a RINO. I never even knew of this terminology (RINO) until this year. He is a TRUE Conservative. A TRUE leader and businessman. I cannot believe you believe what the DPV tells you in those mailers. You of all people , well informed and knowledgeable, should know this is how the Communist Party in the late USSR stayed in business for so long. Look up the facts. Go to the debates. Don’t let these mindless dolts skew your judgement.

So uh.. Chris, were you moved by Obama’s rhetoric and by the prospect of seeing a minority rise to the highest office in our land? NO? So, uh.. the obama donation was a lie, the Warner donation was a lie, support for the YES campaign was a lie. Many folks knew this long before the dpv mailers went out.

    True business leader? Yes.
True political leader? May god help us.

This country is in trouble man, you people believe your own BS.
