Will Senate control be decided in a Steel Cage?
By | Tuesday, June 1st, 2010 | Politics

Democrats are likely to lose Senate seats in 2010. One of those they were hoping to keep was Connecticut, with Sen. Chris Dodd retiring, Obama carrying the state with over 60% of the vote, and Attorney General Richard Blumenthal picking out curtains and practicing his victory speech.

Then, the surprises happened. First, Linda McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment fame, won the GOP nomination, which the “establishment” never expected in a million years.

Then Blumenthal decided he’d talk about those trying days he served in Vietnam, and what it felt like “when we returned.”

Except the closest he came to Vietnam was watching old Oliver Stone movies – he got 5 deferments before finally enlisting in the Marine Reserves, where he served in Washington in the Toys for Tots program.

Not exactly Full Metal Jacket, dude. And I don’t care what state you’re in, there’s only so many Hulk Hogan legdrops a candidate can take before getting pinned down on ‘Nam-bragging.

It’s a tough race to beat even a lackluster Democrat in Connecticut, but the sunlight is showing in this race. If this seat goes GOP, November will be a slaughter.

See the question is, whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when millions of screaming McMahoniacs run wild on you?

Whatcha gonna do brother? Cuz to be the man, Blumenthal’s gonna have to beat the wo-man.

And if you’re not down with that, she’s just got two words for ya!

Well look at her corporate expertise. Media. New Media. Hands down she will win. I said it when she was 30 points in back of the hand picked candidate and I’ll say it now. Senator Linda McMahon!

its bizarre, but as a die-hard old-school WWF fan the idea of Vince McMahon being anywhere near real political power in America makes me want to cut check after check for Linda. Yes, we are talking about this Vince McMahon.

I hear Karen Hurd has PERSONALLY endorsed Mr. Socko.

The HRTP itself has not endorsed anyone up there yet.

Just a rumor, please don’t get angry at me, don’t want her henchmen coming after me.

Linda will take a huge lead. It will look like she’s a sure winner. But then her daugher Stephanie will turn on her and take her out with a steel chair. I’ve seen this swerve before.

I have no clue why yahoo sent me to your site but I must say I have been certainly fascinated by the posts you have pulled together. How many years did it take to end up with this many internet users to your pages? I am pretty darn to this.
