Self funded $1 Million bucks, Wow!! Now that is just nuts.

Interesting that “Final Cash on Hand” numbers are awfully close for Rigell and Mizusawa. I guess if we’re looking for the candidate that knows how to stretch a buck, i.e. a REAL fiscal conservative that walks the walk instead of just talks the talk – we’ve found our man!

    @ Jay D,
Bert spent almost 5 times what he brought in and Rigell 2 1/2 times what he brought in. By your reasoning, basing future fiscal policy on caimpaign funding and spending, both would fit in just fine in Congress!

Wow, it is so awesome the support that Taylor has from all over. All of his support is earned, not bought. Love it!! Keep up the hard & GOOD WORK Taylor. VA-02 see’s it!!

    So,

    Bert spent 157k ranks fourth
    Ben spent 30k ranks 2nd
    Scotty T spent 16k ranks 3rd
Jessica spent 6k rank? Somewhere last
    Ed spent 7k ranks 5th
    Scott R spent 600k and ranks 1st

To those of you that don’t think name recognition (read advertising) doesn’t mean anything think again.

To those of you who don’t think commuting every day across the HRBT doesn’t mean anything think again.

To those of you who don’t think seniority of military service is not important think again.

Happy Memorial Day and thank you to our current and fallen brothers and sisters in arms.

COH speaks to me anyhow… of course, being a week away from D-Day, there’s only so much you’re going to spend.

Surprised to see Taylor so low, though it would appear as if Rigell has the $$$ to hold of both Mizusawa and Loyola FTW.

  7. I'm an Independent June 1, 2010 12:29 pm

Of course Rigell spent the most. His plan is to buy the election. He already bought the support of the governor and local republican party. Yuck. This is our national problem, people in office who have no clue of the value of a dollar. Especially if they are spending someone else’s -the taxpayers’ dollars. I’ll back the conservative candidate that spends the least, Ed Maulbeck.

  8. Ron June 1, 2010 16:35 pm

Independent…you’re supporting Maulbeck. Good. Go vote for him if that’s who you believe in. But, as you know, he will lose. Badly. This is the same Ed Maulbeck who refused to work the polls for Thelma Drake in 2008.

Folks, when did it become fashionable to equate low spending on a campaign with whether one would govern as a fiscal conservative? Oh, I know, when the candidate you are supporting sucks at fundraising. A lack of fundraising support equates to lack of support by, you know, actual voters who care enough about the campaign to actually write a check.

God, I can’t wait until this is over. It’s depressing to see normally sane, responsible adults undertake these mental gymnastics in order to justify their support for these marginal, ill-equipped, fatally flawed candidates.

BTW, if your home is where your heart is, Misuzawa has a “home” in northern Virginian and also happens to have a “house” in Hampton.

  9. Ron June 1, 2010 16:41 pm

    But wait, there’s more.

According to Mizusawa’s FEC report, ONE of his 48 reportable contributions comes from the Second District of Virginia.

Now how exactly is this guy going to win the nomination against Scott Rigell?

Don’t tell us who is going to win. I’m interested, from a political science…campaign and elections perspective…how is he going to win?

He’s great at calling in his chits from friends and colleagues over the years. But that doesn’t equate to votes on June 8.

Besides, his “home” is in NOVA.
