Recount in the 41st House District
By Krystle Weeks | Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010 | PoliticsTonight, the special elections in Fairfax left one race undecided pending a recount and one defeat. Kerry Bolognese is down by 42 votes to Democrat Eileen Filler-Corn, and an automatic recount will occur.
However, the results were quite different in the Mason District School Board race. Samantha Rucker lost her race to Sandy Evans. SBE reports that Evans won with 56% of the vote, while Rucker only had 43% of the vote.
Now, the eyes will be on the recount in the 41st House District.

Wow. 5747 to 5715. I’m not sure which disappoints me most – the narrow defeat or the pathetic turnout.
From my sources on the ground, it was a very low turnout for this election.
20%+ in a special election–the second in a row in the rain in a campaign that has been interrupted multiple times by snowstorms? That’s not “very low” or even “low”, that’s actually pretty damn high.
Thanks for the clarification, VA Blogger.
Kerry conceded the race at 10:30 p.m. He was only 37 votes down and could have taken the automatic recount if he wanted.
VA Blogger – good points. However, I still lament only 20% care.
