No means No
By Amit Singh | Wednesday, February 10th, 2010 | PolicyA simple answer to a simple question. An anonymous group of small business owners put up a billboard in Wyoming, MN with a picture of George W. Bush asking the question “Miss Me Yet?”. The answer is simply “No!”
What is there to miss? We still have troop surges, financial scandals, expansion of healthcare (Bush was actually successful at this), lack of transparency, and a continued violation of our civil liberties.

If I had to choose between the two, sure I’d pick GWB. But, let’s face it, GWB is a lot of the reason we ended up with BHO.
a better analysis: which wife makes the better 1st Lady?
Of course we miss W. He’s 1000x better than Obama. Man never raised taxes. Never tried to my knowledge. He fought Freddie and Fannie mortgage buying spree which created this death spiral on Wall Street. We won in Iraq thanks to W’s obstinence. We lost COngress because of his position that America could not lose the war. That’s a profile in courage. In 30 years he will be remembered as a great president because of his war on terror and deposing Hussein.
Freeing 40million people from tyranny… Now that actually does deserve the Nobel Peace Prize!
What civil liberties did Bush take away? Unless you had Bin Laden on speed dial or were a captured enemy combatant, you had nothing to worry about. I assume you suggestion terrorist have Constitutional rights or the PATRIOT Act allowed Bush to spy on American Citizens.
Bush’s greatest accomplishments and the ones I will remember the most are Alito and Roberts.
Brian you damn straight! 1 and 2 right there!
Brian is spot on, again…Alito and Roberts are the Bush gifts that will keep on giving for 30 years. Wonderful.
@Garrett, I do think American’s have Constitutional rights like habeas corpus or the right to privacy. those are important to me and I hope to you too. our country is less safe when our rights are violated.
Brian:
Sometimes you surprise me and actually earn some conservative credentials. Glad to see you spot on on this. Now if only all the other justices on SCOTUS hold on until 2013. . .
well said Brian
Thank you, Brian, for that reminder! President Bush kept terrorism off our shores during his term, post 9/11/01. He was always honest with us. We can’t say the same for our current President.
@trojanwife, does it matter that more Americans died at the hands of terrorists after 9/11/01 during Bush’s term? those lives are precious whether they died on US soil or not.
@Amit
Where’s this right of privacy you speak of? I don’t see it mentioned in the United States Constitution. I’m taking it you support the SCOTUS’s decision in Roe v. Wade then?
And what are you talking about in your last comment Amit? More Americans were killed by the Germans and Japanese post-Pearl Harbor, so what’s your point?
For some reason I wrote “@Amit” in the name field of my last comment, apologizes.
@Timothy Watson, to your first point, I am referring to the 4th Amendment of course. perhaps you are arguing that since “paper” and “effects” were mentioned instead of “telephone calls” and “emails” it gives the govt the right to tap into our communications?
my point about the soldiers killed in Iraq was in response to trojanwife who claimed Bush protected Americans from terrorism on our shores. my counter-point is that he did not protect Americans from terrorism and it just so happened abroad.
