Shocking! John Edwards lied
By | Thursday, January 21st, 2010 | Politics

Democrat symbol of all that is right with the left, John Edwards, has finally admitted that the child of his affair is actually his.

Edwards’ attorney, Wade Smith, said in an interview that Edwards wrestled with the decision to come forward but took so long to do it because “he’s not the only person involved in this.”

“It’s a complex family situation, and he had to keep in mind that other people have concerns and worries about it,” Smith said. (story)

Isn’t that sweet of Johnny? He was lying all the time and it was other people’s fault.

Creep!

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

This is the difference between Dems and Repubs in shorthand right here. You have NOT heard any Democrats defend this guy since this story broke. Even people who favored him in the primary (full disclosure: I was one) have basically said “Wow, we dodged a bullet there.” The GOP however would continue to defend this guy, see Larry Craig, Sanford, Vitter, etc. It’s part of being in the “reality-based” community than we new facts come into evidence you take them into account.
Sorry if I’m particularly snippy today, it’s my first tobacco-free day in 40 years and I’m feelng a little grumpy.

BK-not so much. A lot of Dems dumped on Clinton and turned on him. Lieberman, for example, who rode his Clinton criticism into a spot on the 2000 ticket.

JR-Thanks. Even with the new anti-smoking drugs, it isn’t easy. Don’t know if I’d have even tried without them.
