Feda Morton is definitely in the 5th District race to win, and has hired political consultant KellyAnne Conway.

Hopefully Ms. Conway doesn’t come up with any dittys like this during this campaign:

I am still not sure how this will hammer out.

If this is indeed a Robert Hurt vs, everybody else fight, then it would seem that Hurt has a good shot at winning.

There are some indications though, that this might turn into a regional primary. Ken Boyd has a constituency in Albermarle and Hurt has some constituency on the Southside. This leaves a large swath of Central Virginia up for grabs. Under this scenario, I could see Verga or Morton dominating these central counties and potentially winning with 23-25% of the vote. McPadden could make an impact as well. Interestingly, a candidate could conceivably not win any counties at all and still get the nomination if the other six tear each other up in the vote totals.

those of us steeped in political drama parse the 5th district out in our heads daily. but no one else even realizes that there is primary for Perriello’s challenger. but everyone i see wants Perriello gone (yes, I hang around with conservative people).
