Do Democrats want dictatorship?
By | Saturday, December 12th, 2009 | Policy

Sure sounds that way. They control the Presidency, the House and the Senate and they still whine that they can’t do enough.

Read this and enjoy the rantings of the power-mad.

Imposing socialism is proving to be tougher than hoped for, so now the loony left asks “Is America Ungovernable?”

Hint to the author: If the system is blocking you from doing what you want to do, it’s because the founders wouldn’t have wanted you to do it.

About the author

Brian Kirwin

The right wants to jeer him. The left wants to censor him. Moderates usually want both. Brian Kirwin is a political consultant and public relations strategist in Virginia Beach with a lightning-rod flair. Brian also serves on the VB Arts & Humanities Commission and frequently appears on Hampton Roads theatrical stages, if only to prove that all actors aren’t liberals. Kirwin’s columns stir up debate and hit the political scene with no punches pulled.

This is nothing new. Lowell is always that way. Way too many Liberal Democrats are like that. What makes it appalling is that Liberal Democrats are still behaving this way even after the president and Congress have made it abundantly clear that it is power they want, not what is good for the country.

Try as we might, we cannot engage such people in logical debate. They don’t have positions; they have wants.

What Liberal Democrats voted for were leaders who promised to give them what they want. Whatever they hear anyone say no to their wants, they have a hissy fit. Persist and you will get nothing from such people except name-calling or sullen silence.

How do you think such people acquired the gall to call Conservatives extremists? A conservative extremist? That is an oxymoron. Yet their viewpoint is the only one that matters to them. They measure what is extreme relative only to that viewpoint.

Liberal Democrats behave like overgrown two-year olds. Like a two-year old, such want what they want, and they will throw a tantrum over anything that gets in the way of fulfilling that want. That includes reality. The fact that what such want is unconstitutional is just an evil obstruction. If you don’t agree, you are just another obstruction, a stupid or evil person. That you are arguing to defend your rights in accordance with the Constitution just makes you all the more threatening, irrational and evil. Since your viewpoint differs from their viewpoint, you cannot possibly be right. Therefore, you must be stupid, insane, evil, racist, homophobic…
