What Democrats won’t say about Joe Wilson
By | Monday, September 14th, 2009 | Policy

Now that Democrats again decide that Congressman Joe Wilson’s apology, which was accepted by President Obama, isn’t good enough, they are now moving to sanction him.

Yep…those first amendment loving lefties are going to pass a bill of attainder because of something someone said.

Democrats have called Wilson’s “You Lie” comments rude, obnoxious, boorish, disrespectful and not in keeping with the traditions of the House.

They haven’t said he was wrong.

Very observant Brian – I would bet they won’t say he was wrong either. I would like to ask Pelosi if it is not in keeping with House rules to violate the tax law when you are the chairman of the Ways and Means committee . . .

South Carolina has a long list of dignitaries that includes Lauren Caitlin Upton (Miss Teen USA 2007 pageant contestant), Board of Education Chair, Kristin Maguire, Governor (and avid Appalachian hiker), Mark Sanford and now Joe “the hater not a debater” Wilson or the “screamer not the dreamer” as others have dubbed him. I did enjoy him cut and running through his apology, which only goes to show that he stands for nothing. He is just another good old boy where in the morning these married men preach to you that there should be prayer in our schools and in the evening they are on their cell phones setting up a date with their other women on the side, hypocrisy has been bred in. I am not surprised that he felt compel to yell like he was at some Friday night game. So long Joey, you too will be seeing the unemployment lines.

Yawn. Joe Wilson lied when he called Obama a liar. Joe Wilson was wrong. In point of fact, Joe Wilson was lying.

    There, we said it. Yawn.

Oh, and by the way, anyone who supports Joe Wilson and what he said is an idiot.

He was wrong on the facts. Also, they are sanctioning Joe Wilson because he violated House rules. That has nothing to do with the First Amendment, that has everything to do with Joe Wilson being an idiot.

Is namecalling the best Democrats can do?

Actually, Wilson didn’t (and said he won’t) apologize on the floor of the House. I guess he doesn’t want it in the public record. So much for a real apology. BTW, Wilson’s opponent has raised more than $1 million since last Wednesday. Good job, Joe. You turned a safe Republican district to a tossup.

Jeff, are you serious? You think the problem is WHERE he apologized?

Since the House was not even in session when he made the comment in the first place, I don’t even think he broke the rules of the House (which don’t apply to joint sessions, by the way). Heck, the standing ovations that accompany every Presidential speech in the House chamber would violate the rules of the House.

If Wilson did apologize on the House floor, Democrats would whine again how it wasn’t enough. How many times do ya have to watch their soap opera before you predict the plot, Jeff.

Actually, folks, Wilson was right. Senators have had to go back and CHANGE the current legislation to ensure that Obama was right. If they have to CHANGE it then it was in error to begin with.

Also, how on earth can Democrats defend denying illegal immigrants health care while trying to call their efforts a “moral imperative”? Which is it, guys?

And Joe Wilson was rebuked because he didn’t apologize on the House floor, like i said. Yes it was a breech of protocol.
““This is about the rules of this House and reprehensible conduct,” said Representative James E. Clyburn of South Carolina, the No. 3 Democrat in the House and a home-state colleague of Mr. Wilson who led the Democratic argument for the resolution.

Democrats characterized the sanction as mild and said they would not have pursued any action at all had Mr. Wilson taken the floor and apologized to his colleagues for disrupting the address.

Jeff, I know what they said. If you want to go your whole life believing politicians, say hi to the Easter Bunny for me.
