The New Nobility
By | Monday, September 7th, 2009 | Uncategorized

With the recent explosion of townhall momentum, a faultline in America has been revealed. Why are the protestors so angry? Why are they taking time out of their busy schedules to come out to a townhall and protest? This has never happened before. Meanwhile the Congressmen have come to these town halls prepared to talk, but not prepared to listen.

This is one reason the American citizenry is so angry; they are seeing  a class of politicians who, having taken power in Washington, see themselves as nobles. This can be clearly demonstrated in the condescending manner in which they have treated their constituents at these town halls. It is also demonstrated in the way of benefits, these congresspeople will not put themselves on the same healthcare plan which they are demanding that the American people go on. They are not subject to the mess which is Social Security. They have allowed themselves to become a class in their own right.

The founders tried to safeguard against this kind of behavior. That is the very reason that the Constitution prohibits sitting members of Congress from receiving titles of nobility. Although the current crop of politicians have not received official titles of nobility, they have treated their status as a member of the Federal government as a form of title, which they feel, gives them the right to talk down to the American people.

We need to stop the New Nobility. It will take a revolution, not waged with guns and violence, but rather at the ballot box.

Are you saying we vote out all the long term GOP members too? The New Nobility seems to come from both parties.

Yes, I am suggesting that. If conservatives ever want to hold real power it will mean pushing the establishment of the GOP out of the way. A conservative message inherently focuses on the people, because conservatives believe in the value of the individual.

The last time Americans were this upset with Congress was in 2006 and 2007 when they tried to pass amnesty for illegals. This is an extension of that anger. People will react when they know an issue will affect their lives personally, and you can’t get much more personal then health care.

The Dems have undergone a youth movement over the last few years, and the GOP needs to follow. In fact, most of the current GOP stars are younger. If they are smart they should not do what the Dems did, and will listen and pay attention to the anger and do everything possible to avoid such anger in the future. That and acting like conservatives will keep them in power.
