No Public Transport to Public Option
By | Monday, August 24th, 2009 | Policy

Sometimes I really feel special to have Jim Moran (D-VA-8) as my congressman. For someone who has emphasized public transportation so much, I find it quite odd that the town hall meeting Tuesday night with Howard Dean is not accessible via public transportation. The town hall is being held at South Lakes High School (of Grant Hill fame) partially since it can hold 2,700 people but also because attendees will not be able to open carry their firearms, which apparently has been an issue at other town halls. Moran’s spokesman Austin Durrer has already expressed they are “anticipating an organized effort to bring people out“. Isn’t that what a town hall is about? But anyone familiar with the 8th district knows that Reston is not convenient for the majority of citizens in the district so it begs the question, does Moran want anyone to come to the town hall?

One chump at a Townhall packs heat to go with his “It Is Time To Water The Tree Of Liberty with the Blood of Tyrants” sign and now every chump wants to. Unhinged lemmings. By the way, are Ann Coulter books always free?

Sure there is public transportation out there. You may not like bus transfers, but that will get you there.

you’re right. I don’t like bus transfers. besides, you would think they would provide some of that info on their event page like which bus to take from where. anyway, I think the point is that they don’t want people to attend in general

If you think public transportation to public meetings is an issue in NoVa, try Hampton Roads. Infinitely worse.
