NLS: If You Can’t Beat ‘Em
By Shaun Kenney | Wednesday, August 12th, 2009 | PoliticsSo which is more offensive — Bill Bolling wearing a sticker of the Stars and Bars, or Ben Tribbett putting his arm around one during the 2008 RPV Convention?
Guess it wasn’t so offensive then.
I wonder if Ben asked Mr. Goode to remove the sticker or relocate himself to somewhere else in the building?

Guys!
The Confederate Battleflag is not and never has been known as the “Stars and Bars”. The Stars and Bars refers to the first Confederate Flag which has three horizontal stripes (bars) and a blue field with a union of stars much like the “Betsy Ross” Old Glory flag.
your ignorance of history and particularly things Southern is again revealed. That said (again), I recommend the poem “Furl that Banner” which expounds the soundest strategy concerning Confederate flags in this day for Southrons and Yankees alike.
I guess Tribbett wasn’t standing close enough to the approximate median point for him to contrive an angry response. Haha great picture, by the way.
Dry Viking,
Don’t get you knickers in a twist about the Cross of St. Andrew.
It doesn’t matter what exactly it’s called…what matters is the irony of one Ben Tribbett, who made the same comments in this post about McDonnell’s proximity to the battle flag or went after Bill Bolling for wearing the same sticker in 2005 that Goode is wearing, having his arm around the guy.
Focus. This is not about the flag. It’s about hypocrisy, dishonesty, and dirty campaigning by the left.
JR:
Agreed, the issue here is dirty campaigning, but when that flag comes up, we are hurt, even if unfairly associated.
All Southrons who still honor the heritage of the South and try to use the Confederate Battle Flag for anything now including gun shows and T-shirts (outside of historical reinactments and films) unwittingly are aiding the liberals and do harm to our cause of freedom and taint our party very undeservedly as happened in this case. That is why I suggest that they “Furl that Banner” and why I suggested that you simply ignore the LJK Day diatribe next January, which is so self-defeating, so we can get back to the real issues that need our attention.
Look, we have Deeds in trouble, let’s not give them any opportunity to side track the discussion. Whining about hypocrisy won’t win. Confronting them on the issues will. Let’s stay on message.
