Cap and Trade protests in Virginia

JR Hoeft | July 21, 2009 | Comments (1)

All is not lost on the horrid Waxman-Markey National Energy Tax bill…it still has to go to the Senate. Which means that, however unlikely, Sens. Warner and Webb still might be persuaded, as Rep. Glenn Nye (D-VA02) was, to vote against the bill.

Taking to Sen. Warner’s office in Chesterfield last week (as well as to Sen. Webb’s in Richmond), were a group of about 200 protesters, demanding the senators vote against “Cap-and-Trade”.

Truly citizen activism in action…it was even noted in the RTD that most of the protesters never likely did something like this before.

Thanks, for the update on protests in those areas. Even if you knew about them being held in other cities, its good for morale seeing the pictures. We’re not alone in making noise over Cap and Trade.

Several pictures of the Cap and Trade protest in front of Webb’s office here in Virginia Beach(Towne Center) can be found on the blog I help write for.

There was a similar crowd size(pictures available). There were quite a few there also protesting Obama’s ideas for socializing healthcare.

There’s even a picture of the often bad mouthed Robert Dean standing with an anti-Cap & Tax sign.

These protests are being held at the same time to better show that many people are upset with Cap & Trade. Its a good idea.

Thanks to anyone that took time out of their day to let our Senators know that we’re less than pleased by this danger to our economic health and way of life. Some are willing to actually DO something. Some just stick their heads in the sand now and bitch later. Visting a senator’s office, calling your Senator, writing letters to the editor, etc. it isn’t that hard. Even blogging. :P

We get the government we deserve. Prove you deserve better. Do something.
