Democrat polls not on the up and up
By Brian Kirwin | Tuesday, June 16th, 2009 | PoliticsI got polled last night, and it was one of the most extensive polls I’ve taken. Human interviewer with a good number of open-ended questions. It was conducted by B R Interviewing in New Jersey, judging by the phone number that called me.
Most of the poll was about Rep. Glenn Nye, his stances, his bills, and his challengers for 2010. They also asked about the race for Governor between Creigh Deeds and Bob McDonnell and other issues.
The caller thanked me for my participation and was saying goodbye when I interrupted her and asked “Who paid for or sponsored this poll?”
She put me on hold, and a male supervisor came on the line. I asked him “I was just wondering who paid for or sponsored this poll?”
He told me that he didn’t know.
I informed him that they are required to disclose who sponsored the poll, and he said “I think it’s Creigh Deeds. Don’t hold me to that, but I think that’s who paid for it.”
Creigh Deeds, a state candidate, asking mostly questions about Glenn Nye’s election, President Obama and Congressional approval? That didn’t make any sense to me, since I’m not real sure state candidates can pay for polling about federal races.
I’ve called the State Board of Elections to see if we can find out what’s going on here. Stay tuned.

It’s more likely an issue with the company, and not with Democrats.
Sounds like they have more than one polling contract in Virginia and forgot which one they were working on.
Doesn’t make much sense for a statewide campaign to poll extensively in a federal race that isn’t even on the ballot this year.
The correct word is “Democratic,” since you are using it as an adjective. “Democrat” is a noun.
I notice people doing that all the time, and this is just basic grammer. You seem pretty smart, and I’m actually surprised you did not know this.
Perhaps it was a typo, in which case I apologize for my correction.
BTW, your colleague, Mr. Hoeft, gets it right in his most recent post, “Democrats Grab More Power in Congress,” where he is using the plural of “Democrat” correctly, as a noun.
Aznew,If you want any credibility on your pseudo-pedantic rant, good “grammer” is not a strong way to start.
James – Yikes. No defense, much embarrassment.
