#3: Two Years After Russian Invasion … Putin Thought Ukraine Would Fall in 3 Days but They Are Still Fighting.

WE SUPPORT UKRAINE!

ON THIS DAY two years ago, Facebook was consumed with posts from Americans proclaiming their support of our friend and ally that had been violently invaded by neighboring Russia. Russian tanks and soldiers had poured over the border and were heading toward Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital city on the banks of the Dnieper River.

ON THIS DAY two years ago, Russia invaded Ukraine in a war that Putin thought would be over in three days. He was wrong.

ON THIS DAY two years ago, Ukraine held its own and, with help (weapons, ammunition, financial) from America and the other NATO countries, continues to hold Russia at bay. But Ukraine’s military is running out of ammo and weapons as fatalities and casualties continue. This week Russia overtook a border city.

THEY NEED OUR HELP.

Two years later, here we are. Ukraine is still at war and running out of ammo and weapons. Mike Johnson and the House GOP have refused to allow a vote to release money intended to help Ukraine’s military.

The U.S. Senate has already passed the bill. The House GOP is blocking the bill.

America has not lost her resolve in helping Ukrainians protect their homeland – it is REPUBLICANS who have lost their resolve to help a free country remain free.

It sickens me to say that about my party and my congressman, both of whom have lost their backbone and compassion and understanding that stopping Russia at Ukraine protects Europe from Russian aggression. We don’t have to set a foot on foreign soil; we just need to provide financial help.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said “the death of Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny and the first Russian gains on the Ukraine battlefield in months should help focus the attention of NATO and its allies on the urgent need to support Ukraine.”

Those who forget (or never knew) history are bound to repeat it. Mike Johnson and the GOP are leading us down that path.
