A Republican mass meeting [1] for the 86th House District will be held Saturday, January 19, at Fairfax Christian School (22870 Pacific Boulevard, Dulles) at 9:00 a.m.
The district, covering parts of Fairfax and Loudoun counties, votes blue except in the 2009 gubernatorial race when voters went with Republican Bob McDonnell over Democrat Creigh Deeds (51-49%)
Saturday’s mass meeting is to find a Republican nominee to replace former Democratic Delegate Jennifer Boysko who won the special election for the 33rd Senate District [2] on January 8. That election was to replace former Democratic State Senator Jennifer Weston who won the 10th District congressional seat formerly held by Republican Barbara Comstock.
The winner of Saturday’s GOP mass meeting will face Democratic candidate Ibraheem Samirah in the special election scheduled on Tuesday, February 19.
