BREAKING: Cosgrove Announces for Chesapeake Clerk of Court
State Senator John Cosgrove (R-14), a former Chesapeake city councilman, vice mayor, and state delegate, has declared his intention to pursue the position of Clerk of Court of the great city of Chesapeake after the surprising announcement that current clerk, Faye Mitchell, will be stepping down June 1.
“I will seek the nomination for circuit court clerk,” wrote Cosgrove. “I admire Faye Mitchell and her service. However, I have expressed an interest in this office for years and know that I have an unique understanding of the requirements of the Compensation Board and the funding required to make this office the best in the commonwealth.”
This is likely to set into motion a daisy chain in Chesapeake, not to mention the fact that the state senate hangs in the balance.
