Well, it is hard to believe that it has been 1,000 days since Senate Democrats have passed a budget. Wow, I could think of other things that took place faster, like Kim Kardashian’s marriage tanking (sorry for the reference, but someone had to say it) or Lewis & Clark’s travels to discover the West. You should check out this video on other things that happened in less than a 1,000 days.

However, the Senate Democrats have allowed the country to struggle during this time, and nothing has been accomplished. This is simply inexcusable. Republican Party of Virginia Chairman Pat Mullins released a statement yesterday highlighting Senators Mark Warner and Jim Webb’s lack of initiative in passing a budget.
“Senate Democrats should be ashamed of what they’ve done to our nation’s fiscal health. Passing a budget is the most basic function of Congress. Operating with no budget is something we expect from failed states or dictatorships, not the U.S.,” Mullins said.
“Every family in Virginia has to sit down and come up with a budget. And yet the Democrat-run Senate can’t do it,” he said. “Why? Because they’re scared to put their ruinous plans for higher taxes and bigger government down on paper for all to see.”
“Jim Webb and Mark Warner should be ashamed of themselves. Rather than be forceful voices calling for Washington to follow Richmond’s successful model, they’ve gone along as Democrat leaders let our country coast toward the financial cliff,” he said.
“Little wonder Tim Kaine wants to join the U.S. Senate. For his last budget, Chairman Kaine completely abdicated his responsibility, leaving behind an fiscal mess that was ‘balanced’ with tax increases that couldn’t get a single vote in the House of Delegates,” Mullins said.
I never knew it was so hard to pass a budget, but the Senate Democrats make budgeting seem impossible. Or, perhaps, they are lazy. Meanwhile, many in the U.S. are asking “Where’s the Budget and Where are the jobs?”
